My Blue Suit

Amazing how the description of a blue suit could arouse such a raucous reaction from a particular group of entertainment/media reporters.

I try to not spend too much time writing about what passes for political discourse in our country. God forbid we should spend significant time discussing the merits of whether or not we should tax the wealthy at a higher rate than we tax the poor and middle class; whether or not it would be wise, or even good policy to provide a means of adequate health care for everyone in our country so that even those who do not have a job which provides a living wage, that they may be able to afford seeing a healthcare provider so they do not have to choose between paying rent, heat and food, or dying of their illness. God forbid our political discourse should include discussing why the ultra-wealthy owners and administrators of large corporations frequently refuse to pay a truly living wage to those hard-working employees who make the corporation a success.

But no, a current media-frenzy instigated by those who do not believe in these basic human rights, make an issue of the Vice-President describing herself and her blue suit for the benefit of visually-impaired individuals. So, I cheated on my title, right? I personally do not own a blue suit. But the Vice-President of the United States, while speaking to and about Americans with disabilities, was wearing a blue suit and…
